Assemblies

To recognize students for their achievement, there are at least two formal convocations held, one in the fall and one in the spring.
Various assemblies are also held throughout the year in which students are recognized or are encouraged to use the knowledge and skills learned in certain subjects. Informative speakers and programs also enhance the learning process.

At the conclusion of the school year, each division holds an honors assembly for students and their families. All students are required to attend in uniform. At this time, students receive academic, fine arts, and athletic awards. All families are asked to attend and to honor the recipients.

Seniors, their families, and their friends enjoy an end-of-the year gathering in which each senior is recognized by the faculty and administration. A video of the seniors is usually presented. It is a special occasion of remembrance and transition.

All seniors must attend the commencement service to receive their diplomas. Given space limitations, each family may invite approximately ten to twelve guests. The ceremony is serious and formal in nature. Any senior failing to adhere to the standard of conduct and decorum established for commencement may have his/her diploma withheld until disciplinary obligations are completed.
