As an accredited, nonprofit, nonsectarian, coeducational day and boys’ boarding school for students in grades 4-12, Brandon Hall enrolls approximately 130 students with a very low pupil-teacher ratio. It has often been referred to as “the intensive care of education” because of its small classes and effective programs for college bound students with learning differences of reading, math, written expression, and attention as well as general underachievement. The school also offers ESL, postgraduate, and summer school programs.
International students find that English as a Second Language (ESL) courses also provide individual attention for optimum success. Qualified pupils who perform at grade level but are behind in earning credits may profit from one-to-one classes in which a student may earn one unit in a semester. Unique about the school is the intensity of the focus on the individual within a very traditional prep school setting that is both challenging and nurturing.
Students can be involved in numerous sports as well as a strong fine arts program in arts, music, and theatre. While located in the quiet suburbs of North Atlanta on the Chattahoochee River, the school’s proximity to the educational, cultural and recreational opportunities of downtown Atlanta makes the school attractive as both a co-ed day and boys’ boarding school.
-Paul R. Stockhammer, President and HeadmasterWith a focus on the individual, Brandon Hall provides small group and one-on-one college preparatory classes for students who desire a more intensive educational setting or who, for a variety of reasons, may not have been achieving their potential. Emphasizing multi-sensory instruction, applied study skills, organization, accountability, and the ordering of priorities, the school seeks to motivate each student to fulfill his/her potential.
