Boys and Girls Tennis Season Preview
The Boys tennis team has started practicing last week although, in reality, many have been working since the end of last season to prepare for this upcoming season.
Major growth has been seen so far from returning players Nick Angove, Ryan Mueller, Gabriel Nagy, and Connor Schur while we have also added productive newcomers to Brandon Hall with Aidan Hurtado and Jeff Strode.
The team could have more depth than they have seen in recent years as they hope to make a deeper run than they did last year, advancing to the GISA Final Four.
The players are aware of the reputation BH holds around the state, as the team has finished region champion or runner up in 7 of the last 8 years. With this reputation to uphold, many of hours of practice is necessary to continue this tradition of excellence.
Although the Girls tennis had its string of 5 consecutive region championships broken last year the Lady Panthers look to return with a vengeance this year.
The Lady Panthers return Angie Fusto, Kendall Gladney, and the doubles team of Tianya Zhan and Ruyiang Zhao. They have all worked hard to improve this off season. Senior Kailey Chin is an addition that Panther nation will be watching closely as she looks to be one of the top players in GISA and will add depth to Brandon Hall’s line up.
Both the Boys and Girls will kick off their season at Sandy Springs Tennis Center taking on The Weber School.
